DISRUPTIVE PROJECTS IN STRATEGIC SECTORS

Design of a new component to reduce dose rates in spent fuel casks, based on concrete rings assembled together and designed to minimise the structural and thermal impact on those casks.

Development of a new concept of modular jacket-type substructure and a new installation process that eliminates the need for large floating cranes. Its main objectives are to double the market for fixed substructures, achieve this at a cost 30% lower than floating solutions, and increase production capacity in ports.

The Cognitive Hospital project involved creating a digital twin of the hospital built on the VIRCORE platform. It aims to optimise the hospital’s end-to-end management by connecting multiple specific modules to a central platform.

Project to identify solutions to optimise storage space for low- and intermediate-level waste, through the development of a new drum concept that optimises storage capacity while ensuring compatibility with standard handling equipment, mass production and compliance with ADR regulations; and the development of mortars and micro-concretes with high shielding capabilities to reduce contact dose rates on the containers and, consequently, optimise the amount of waste to be managed in them in cases where dose limits are the most restrictive constraint.
