ESKOM awarded the KCC (Koeberg Civils Consortium), formed by INGECID's subsidiary in South Africa and local construction company WBHO Construction, the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract for the design and construction of a new spent fuel container storage facility at the Koeberg Nuclear Power Plant.

The scope of the contract included performing the structural and radiological calculations necessary to ensure compliance with nuclear regulations, preparing the licensing documentation, and providing support during the process before the national regulator (NNR). INGECID was also responsible for designing the auxiliary civil structures, including drafting the construction project, which will be executed by WBHO Construction.

This international project strengthens INGECID's presence in the nuclear sector outside Spain and highlights its ability to develop comprehensive engineering solutions that combine design, calculation, licensing, and coordination with regulators, ensuring the safety and reliability of critical facilities.
