INGECID has extensive experience in civil engineering projects carried out under the BIM methodology.
Specifically, one of the projects where BIM was implemented throughout all construction phases was the infrastructure construction for Sections 9A and 9B of Phase I of the Bilbao South Metropolitan Bypass. BIM played a key role in coordinating between disciplines and sections, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and supporting 3D BIM modeling and 4D scheduling for alternatives analysis. This was made possible using a collaborative environment (CDE) supported by the comprehensive project management platform VIRCORE, which allowed for the development of an integrated model containing all project documentation.
The application of BIM methodology in this project enabled the team to identify and effectively resolve current challenges in managing large-scale BIM projects in a practical and efficient manner.
