Following a tender process, ENRESA has awarded INGECID the contract for a "Type B packaging design service for the transport of radioactive material", as it submitted the best technical and economic bid, according to the weighting criteria for the contract.

The contract calls for the design of a type B(U) package that can be transported by road, rail and sea within Spain and abroad. It includes the conduct of mathematical simulations of the tests and trials necessary to ensure that the packaging designed will meet the criteria established for type B(U) packaging certification, according to the ADR (Agreement on the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road), RID (Regulations on the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail) and IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code).
