Enresa has awarded the joint venture formed by INGECID, WESTINGHOUSE and IDOM the engineering services contract for the decommissioning of the Santa María de Garoña Nuclear Power Plant, for a total amount of €24,400,608.32.

The joint venture will perform the activities needed to obtain authorization for phase 2 of the decommissioning process, preparing design modifications and the basic engineering documentation for phase 2, carrying out the detailed engineering for both decommissioning phases, drafting works projects and technical specifications for supplies and services, preparing associated documentation (complementary radiation studies, monitoring unit and release unit reports, etc.), as well as the analysis of radiological characterization results and reports and advising on on-site work.. 

The project will be managed using the VIRCORE (CDE) solution, ensuring it meets the organization’s BIM guidelines and that all the information and data generated within the framework of the project are properly shared, communicated, traceable and secure.

The project will be led by a team of more than 30 highly-qualified professionals with a solid track record and experience in the sector, ensuring an exceptional level of specialization and commitment, so each stage of the process is implemented according to the highest quality, innovation and safety standards.
