A joint venture between INGECID, GEOCONSULT and EIS-GUIA has been awarded a service contract to carry out additional studies, a technical review and modeling of facilities for projects developed by the Madrid General Directorate for Public Transport Infrastructure.

The 36-month project, with a baseline budget of €2.87 million, boosts our commitment to innovation and efficiency in the development of strategic infrastructures.

Purpose of the contract

The specific goal of the contract is to use BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology to optimize transport infrastructure projects and implement technical improvements, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality, safety and operational efficiency.

The work includes:

  • Technical review of construction projects, ensuring technical feasibility and regulatory compliance.
  • Carrying out additional studies, with specific reports on noise, vibration, traffic, the environment and cultural heritage.
  • BIM modeling of key facilities, including stations, depots and certain ventilation shafts to improve infrastructure management and maintenance.
  • Assessment of environmental and urban impacts to facilitate sustainable planning that meets legal requirements.

This project will be managed using the VIRCORE common data environment (CDE) to allow data to be managed centrally, optimizing decision-making in each phase of the project.

BIM methodology: the future of urban transport

The use of BIM in railway and transport infrastructures is a key step forward in the digital transformation of the sector. The use of this methodology ensures:

  • Greater precision in the planning and execution of works.
  • Fewer errors and interventions in the design and construction phases.
  • Lower costs thanks to simulations and impact analysis.
  • Sustainability and energy efficiency to meet environmental targets.

INGECID has been developing advanced BIM solutions for large infrastructure projects for many years, ensuring streamlined integration between disciplines and optimizing real-time decision-making.
