
ENRESA awarded the joint venture formed by INGECID, WESTINGHOUSE, and IDOM the engineering services for the decommissioning of the Santa María de Garoña Nuclear Power Plant, for a total amount of €24.4 million. The contract covered the development of the activities necessary to obtain phase 2 decommissioning authorization, the preparation of design modifications, the preparation of basic and detailed engineering documentation, the drafting of construction projects and technical specifications, as well as the performance of radiological studies, monitoring reports, and technical advice during on-site work.
The integral management of the project was carried out using the VIRCORE collaborative solution (CDE), which allowed development to be aligned with the organization's BIM guidelines and ensured the traceability, communication, and security of all the information generated. More than thirty highly qualified professionals are participating in the project, contributing their experience and expertise in nuclear engineering, with the aim of guaranteeing the highest standards of quality, innovation, and safety in each phase of the process.
