INNODAY 2018, INGECID participates thanks to the project “Scour Protection Jacket (SPJ)”

12 June 2018

On May 23rd, the first edition of the Innoday fair was held at Iberdrola’s international campus, located in San Agustín del Guadalix (Madrid), where INGECID participated thanks to its anti-socavation solution for jacket towers.

Innoday 2018 was an ideal meeting place to showcase the most innovative initiatives that are transforming the energy sector, foster knowledge transfer and attract young talent.

The more than 600 attendees at Innoday 2018 were able to see first-hand how Iberdrola uses drones to check its wind turbines and see in situ how an electric car works. They were also able to see what it is like inside a nuclear power plant and were virtually transported to the Wikinger offshore wind farm, among other things.

Specifically, wind farms have been the reason for INGECID’s participation in this fair. INGECID is currently developing a research project, together with the Hydraulic Institute (IH Cantabria) and Iberdrola, for the optimisation of jacket tower anti-scald systems: the SPJ Project (Scour Protection Jacket), which was financed by the Society for the Development of Cantabria (SODERCAN) through the I+C=+C programme.

INGECID, which since its inception has been committed to the wind energy sector and innovation to remain at the forefront, can be an example for young talents and start-ups attending these conferences.
